Why is he your favorite rapper???

Since when has it been cool it not be good at what you do but still get respect. Big was nice, Pac was nice, Jay is nice, Nas is nice...We bought their record cause the were nice. If some one cant sing we dont say, well she cant sing but she cute so ima listen to her shit. We dont say, well he cant play ball but he looks cool on the court and Ima get his sneakers. Teachers dont say, well he dumb as a brick but he looks cool in the back of the class so ima give him an A+. I've never been a hater but I've never been a dumby either. Lets please stop supporting wack rappers. If you nice, you nice, if you a bum, you a bum. Beats and hooks cant be the whole song. Since when is it cool to be wack???

Hip-hop is dying cause people are letting niggas with no talent shine. Now everyone and their mother wants to rhyme. If a chick is bad but her you know what stinks, do you talk to her? No!!!...(ladies) if a dude is fresh but his teeth look like he's been chewing on rocks and his breath smells like he's been eating shit cakes, would you kiss him? No!!!...if you have two felonies (a gun and a drug charge), do you go apply for a government job? hell NO!!!... Wake up and smell the bullshit!!! These are some of the excuses I hear from both sexes. "He look good though (theys still cant rap)"-"He got money though(still cant rap)"-"He's real (his rapps really suck though)."-"I like the beat and the hook.(he didnt make the beat or write the hook. check the credits)"

  1. I feel like nowadays I see mad people getting all worked up over the likes of Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris etc, and its becuase they say it's the bottom of the barrel hip-hop, and how its destroyin the genre. But this shit aint hip-hop! Its crunk music, their not tryin to be hip-hop, or to be the next Rakim or Nas, their doin their own thing. The reason they get so much hate from hip-hop fans its because we label them as hip-hop, and by doing so we expect all the usual qualities from them, and their not there, because there not important to them.

When we look at hip-hop, we see the lyrical wizardry or Rakim or Nas, the flawless flow of Kool G. Rap or Big Pun, the social awearness of Chuck D or Talib Kweli etc etc, and when we label the likes of Soulja Boy hip-hop, we expect at least some of these qualities, but there not there, so we say its shit. How do we know that what makes a song like this good, isn't what makes a traditional hip-hop song good, and instead its how catchy the tune is, how much you can dance to it, lyrics been so bad their good?

Take minimalist techno for example. It sounds utter shit, but techno fans say its genius. If these 'rappers' were just labeled as crunk music, and never associated with hip-hop, they could be judged more fairley. Don't get me wrong, I dislike Soulja Boy and Hurricane Chris just as much as everyone else, but in the same way I dislike pop music, not in the same way I dislike 50 Cent. They don't bother me becuase I don't consider them hip-hop. But I have faith that the wackness will die out, I mean Lil' Jon was everywhere a few years ago...remember?.

  2. Hey! That's Boosie...and, I'm not a fan of crappy rap but, Boosie is not in the same category as Soulja Boy. Plus, he's been doing this for a minute now... It's not like he just cropped up one-hit wonder status... Ask your Louisiana people. I have more than a handful of his albums...
